District 35 needs a voice and I intend to listen to its constituents, their issues and champion their cause in the Indiana General Assembly. I am willing to work both sides of the aisle. Positive change for all Hoosiers will occur when partisan politics are moved aside. We need to roll up our sleeves and address the problems that cost Indiana jobs, the lack of health care for many of our citizens, laid off teachers, and reduction of needed educational programs. I am a Democrat committed to fiscal responsibility. If we can't fund it, we can't have it!
	There is no doubt that Indiana needs to be less dependent on foreign fuel. There are means to accomplish this goal, such as: look for ways to cut energy costs, support the development of the Indiana Energy Institute to look at solar and wind power alternatives, and seek opportunities to create jobs in Indiana with progressive energy policies.		Improving the health of all Hoosiers has been a commitment throughout my entire career. Working families, senior citizens, and the poor need health care coverage. I will do the following: work for affordable health care coverage for Hoosiers, encourage better life style choices in early education, and recognize the long-term consequences of autism on health care as well as education.
	Education is critical. Our children and grandchildren deserve the best. You can count on my efforts for addressing the following issues. Many Indiana schools are facing large cuts because of  property tax restructuring. In District 35 some schools will face large financial cuts. I will fight for funding to provide quality education in our schools. Promoting healthy foods and beverages in all schools is important.		Fiscal responsibility is a necessity for a viable Indiana. I will support efforts to: broaden the tax base through economic development, make sure large corporations pay their fair share in taxes and close the tax loopholes and shelters used by big businesses costing Indiana tax payers over $340 million, and balance the state budget responsibly.
As your state representative I will fight for you. You need a representative that listens to your issues and champions your causes in the Indiana General Assembly. I am that candidate.
